Custom Settings Window

  • Go to "File->Custom Settings…" to manually configure Inner Tube.
  • Many custom settings are more easily set using the more general Game Settings window.
  • In this Custom Settings window you can manually link individual measurements to Inner Tube game properties.
  • You can reverse the links (for example make speed slower when the measurement goes higher) by clicking the "Reverse" check box next to a link.
  • You can also set certain game variables in this window.

You can link speed, fog, ship exhaust, tunnel transparency, autopilot accuracy, music volume, etc. For instance:

Fog

less foggy

more foggy

Speed slower

faster

Tunnel Transparency

tunnel visible

tunnel transparent

Description of the All Inner Tube Setting Links

SHIP SPEED – Higher measurements increase the current maximum velocity of the ship.

VISIBILITY (FOG) – Higher measurements increase visibility (decreasing fog amount).

POWERUP SIZE – Higher measurements increase size of the powerups (the collectable diamond objects).

MUSIC VOLUME – Higher measurements increase music volume.

BEEP – If measurement is 0.95 or over a beep sounds every 1 second.

AUTO PILOT ACCURACY – Higher measurements make the autopilot better at the game. Lower measurements make the autopilot miss powerups and double-back to get them.

TUNNEL TRANSPARENCY – Higher measurements make the tunnel more see-through.

SHIP OPACITY – Higher measurements make the ship solid.

SHIP REFLECTIVITY – Higher measurements make the ship become very reflective.

EXHAUST SIZE – Higher measurements make the exhaust more full (each “smoke” particle is larger).

EXHAUST LENGTH – Higher measurements increase the length of the exhaust (by increasing how long the exhaust lasts).

SKY VISIBILITY – Higher measurements make the sky visible (the sky only becomes visible if you could naturally see it, so this works well in combination with tunnel transparency, or on a level where you can always see some of the sky).

Description of the Inner Tube Setting Options

LEVEL REPEAT – If this is checked when you get to the end of the level you start again at the beginning of that same level.

LEVEL SELECT – Choose one of the twenty available levels to play.

RESTART CURRENT LEVEL – This is good to click once you have finished configuring Inner Tube to insure that the level reflects all of your current settings.

MUSIC – If this is checked background music plays

TIMER – If this is checked a timer counts down in the upper-right corner of the screen. If the timer gets to 0 a white fog engulfs your ship and you start the level over from the beginning. If you do not want to be timed, uncheck this box.

POWERUPS – Display the powerups. If you turn this off the autopilot will still double-back if it was too inaccurate. If you turn off powerups you will be unable to beat levels “Alien Tunnel”, “Alien Zits”, “Alien Stomach”, “Alien Exit” or “Star Passage” as you need the additional time that powerups give you on these levels.

SHOW TUNNEL – Make the tunnel visible and solid. If this box is not checked you do not see the tunnel and you can pass directly through the tunnel walls. Good for people who don't like the confined look of the tunnel.

REVERSE UP AND DOWN ARROW KEYS – If you are controlling the ship with the keyboard this makes the down arrow move the ship up and the up arrow move the ship down (like a flight simulator).

SHIP STOPS WHEN SHIP SPEED LINK MEASUREMENT IS 0 – If you are linking ship speed to a measurement and that measurement goes to 0 this controls whether the ship stops, or simply slows down to about half speed. If this box is checked the ship stops when the measurement linked to ship speed is 0.
